At Hilton Garden Inn Laramie, we believe leadership begins with values. That’s why our hospitality internship program is designed to blend business, leadership, and social impact — encouraging students to think creatively, act ethically, and use their influence to make a difference.
In 2024, when a group of student interns was challenged to help the Pulte Family Foundation use the hotel to make an impact on the community, they noticed that lightly used bedding was being discarded during routine room refreshes. Instead of letting it go to waste, they reached out to the Laramie SAFE Project, a local nonprofit that supports survivors of domestic violence. Together, they launched a donation initiative—turning hotel waste into comfort and dignity for those in crisis.
The result? Over 30 full bed sets donated to women and families rebuilding their lives.
It has been incredibly rewarding and inspiring to work alongside our group of interns. We’re fortunate to have a dedicated team committed to mentoring the next generation of hospitality leaders—equipping them with skills, confidence, and purpose. Together, we’re not only shaping future professionals, but also instilling in them the value of service—giving back to the community and making a lasting impact. -Marty Schaefer, General Manager, Hilton Garden Inn Laramie
This wasn’t just a service project — it was a lesson in resourcefulness, empathy, and the real-world power of leadership with purpose. These students didn’t just learn how to manage a hotel. They learned how to change one.
When you stay with us, you help create opportunities like this—where future leaders are learning to build a more compassionate industry, one choice at a time. Thank you for being part of a new kind of hospitality.
