For many student veterans, returning to civilian life and pursuing higher education brings challenges that are often invisible: emotional fatigue, financial pressure, isolation, and the heavy demands of balancing school, work, and family life. During moments of stress and crisis, a stable, welcoming place to recharge can make all the difference.

In 2024, Hilton Garden Inn Laramie, located on the campus of the University of Wyoming, launched a Wellness Stays program in partnership with the University’s Veterans Services Center. Through this initiative, student veterans and their families are offered a safe, supportive space to rest, regroup, and regain their strength during critical times.

“Our Veterans have sacrificed so much to keep us free, and we owe them so much more than just words of gratitude. It’s an honor to provide these warriors and their families a space to heal, rest, and focus on their wellbeing.” – Kevin Doyle, COO Pulte Family Charitable Foundation

One recent stay showed just how vital this support can be. A veteran in crisis during the holidays found much-needed stability through the program—a reminder that what might seem like a simple night of shelter can, in the right moment, offer hope, dignity, and the space to begin again.

“Through the Veteran’s Wellness Stay Program, we were able to help a student-veteran reset and re-engage. He shared that, while it was difficult to ask for and accept help, the experience restored his belief that the sacrifices he made serving his country are truly appreciated by his fellow countrymen.” -Marty Martinez,  CW2 USA, Veterans Services Center Director

Beyond wellness stays, Hilton Garden Inn Laramie also provides ongoing event and meal discounts for student veterans and direct donation support to ensure programs that serve them continue to grow.

This is what hospitality can mean: not just providing rooms, but offering restoration, relief, and real care to those who have already given so much.

When you stay with us, you help sustain programs like these—creating a culture of compassion, dignity, and resilience for student veterans and their families. Thank you for standing alongside those who have served.
