Our Founder’s Story
Bill Pulte believed in building things that last.
A master homebuilder, Bill believed in more than blueprints and bottom lines. Across America, his neighborhoods rose with intention—crafted to last, and built to matter.
He believed something radical for his time: business could do more than turn a profit—it could serve a purpose.
Bill proved that belief in the homes he built and in the quiet, often extreme generosity he lived out when no one was looking. His instincts were sharp, his standards high, and his sense of responsibility deep. He believed that if you’ve been given much, much is required.

Bill Pulte is the founder of Pulte Homes and the Pulte Family Charitable Foundation
Today, Bill’s legacy carries forward in new ways. Through the Pulte Family Charitable Foundation, his life’s work continues—funding 200+ nonprofits in 43 countries, touching the lives of 15 million people.
Our Humanitarian Hotels are part of that story—where 100% of profits go to charity. We didn’t invent hospitality, we just reimagined what it could do.
Because of our guests, each stay, each event, each wedding can fuel nonprofits, fund education, employ families fleeing violence and persecution, and offer real opportunity to people on the margins.
